Engineered Garments Specials
Our Specials from Engineered Garments landed from New York this week and we are very happy with the way that the styles have turned out. We asked Daiki if he could design a Mercantile Work Jacket and a Work Shirt for us last July. Between then and now the designs were drawn, specification sheets made up, fabrics chosen, factory times booked in, and now the finished articles have arrived.
We wanted the jacket to have its roots in Workwear so the style is based around the EG Engineer Jacket, but have the option to wear it collar down and with a tie if required. We decided to stick with Navy Blue and play with different fabrics so that we can switch between seasons and climates. We chose the Heavy Cotton Twill as a year round style, the Cotton Ripstop and the High Count Twill as Spring Summer options and we have a Uniform Serge Wool in production for Autumn Winter.
For the Mercantile shirt we were happy to stick with the work shirt and shorten it a little from the standard. We had fond memories of the Miner shirt and we were happy when Daiki suggested this option. The utility pockets are handy for work and add character to the design, we also remember when the last button was red on the worker so we chose the a North Sea blue gray button to finish off. On the fabrics we kept things pretty simple, so with a couple of chambray options, a lightweight denim and a little Blackwatch, all is good.
