The Hideaway

To mark the arrival of the Autumn/Winter period we decided to take this seasons offerings to a somewhat magical location in Aberdeenshire.

Burn O'Vat is an ancient example of a pothole which was formed approximately 14,000 years ago by the melting of a glacial ice sheet which melted and resulted in a torrent of debris including rocks, boulders and silt to become lodged in the narrow hollow within the riverbed.

According to folklore this spot is also believed to have allowed the famous outlaw and rogue Rob Roy to evade captors. This may not be true however actually being a place of hiding for outlaw Patrick Gilroy Macgregor during the 17th century and a possible relative of Rob Roy.

Our curation for this shoot was inspired by the outdoors and rugged landscape of this beautiful but hidden spot within the wilderness. The complemetary autumnal colours found in our outfits might also prevent detection from the authorities.
